Job Summary
Join our vibrant bookstore as a Barista - Bookstore Attendant, where you will craft delightful beverages, provide exceptional customer service, and create a welcoming environment for all visitors. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Engage with customers to provide friendly assistance, answer questions about products, and recommend menu items or bookstore selections.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, tables, and food handling surfaces to uphold food safety standards.
- Manage cash handling duties by processing cash transactions, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end.
- Assist with food preparation tasks related to beverage service and light café food offerings while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and recording sales data for accurate stock levels.
Requirements - No Barista Experience? That's Okay!
Previous barista experience is not required. We are happy to train the right person.
Experience in coffee, retail, bookstores, hospitality, or customer service is always a plus, but we're more interested in finding someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and genuine love for books, coffee, and people.

Our ideal candidate will have:
- Open availability Friday through Sunday, including mornings and evenings
- A flexible schedule during the week, Monday through Friday
- Availability during weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods
- Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive for scheduled shifts on time
Because weekends are among our busiest times, weekend availability is a requirement for this position.
Location & Relocation
This position is located in person in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Candidates must currently live within reasonable commuting distance OR be willing and able to relocate to the Blue Ridge area by the time of hire.
Important Employment Information
This is a part-time, ongoing position with the possibility of seasonal full-time hours. This is not a temporary seasonal position.
