Outside Sales Representative

Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, Salary-Exempt

Job Overview

Jackson Oil & Solvents is seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our sales team. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and grow revenue and gross margins within an assigned territory by developing new business and strengthening relationships with existing customers.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering measurable results. This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Develop an in-depth knowledge of Jackson Oil & Solvents products and effectively communicate their value to new and existing customers.
Actively and consistently call on assigned accounts through in-person meetings, business reviews, phone calls, emails, and regular check-ins.
Grow account revenue, profitability, and margins while achieving established sales goals and budgets.
Identify, prospect, and qualify potential customers and convert qualified leads into new business.
Develop and manage an organized sales territory, including scheduling appointments, planning travel, conducting cold calls, and prioritizing sales activities.
Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, customer interactions, opportunities, and results in the company CRM.
Track sales activity, report on progress, and analyze results to continuously improve sales performance.
Work closely with the Sales Manager to create and execute a sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports company revenue and profitability objectives.
Meet regularly with existing customers and prospects to understand their changing business needs and identify opportunities to provide additional value.
Build strong, long-term customer relationships through active listening, responsive communication, and professional follow-up.
Educate customers about new products, services, and features that can benefit their businesses.
Demonstrate unquestionable integrity in all business activities and interactions.
Communicate professionally and share information in a manner that builds trust and strengthens relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Monitor delinquent customer accounts in coordination with the Accounting Department to support timely payment.
Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and internal departments.
Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and effectively.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, market conditions, and sales activities.
Prepare and submit expense reports with all required receipts in accordance with company credit card and expense policies.
Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3–5 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales objectives.
Proven ability to identify opportunities, convert prospects into customers, and develop long-term customer relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining outstanding customer relationships.
Proficiency with CRM systems and the ability to use CRM tools effectively to manage leads, accounts, activities, and sales opportunities.
Strong self-motivation, initiative, and drive, with the ability to establish goals, manage time effectively, and work independently.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and effectively plan daily activities.
Ability to travel throughout the assigned sales territory and meet regularly with customers and prospects.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
