Full Job Description

We're looking for a motivated, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and delivering exceptional customer service. As the Assistant Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day success of a busy building materials branch. You'll partner closely with the Branch Manager, help lead a dedicated team, and step into a leadership role whenever needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to grow their career with a stable, industry-leading organization.

Responsibilities:

Support the Branch Manager in the daily operations of the branch and provide leadership in their absence.
Coach, motivate, and support the Inside Sales, Warehouse, and Delivery teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
Coordinate inside sales activities, including order entry, quotations, order processing, and expediting deliveries.
Oversee inventory purchasing, receiving, and inventory accuracy.
Build strong relationships with suppliers while managing pricing, billing inquiries, and delivery coordination.
Schedule and optimize daily customer deliveries.
Ensure accurate employee time reporting for inside sales, warehouse, and delivery staff.
Support fleet compliance by assisting with preventative maintenance and DOT requirements.
Help maintain a safe workplace by supporting health and safety initiatives and fostering a safety-first culture.
Continuously improve warehouse organization, workflow, and operational efficiency.
Stay informed on industry trends, new products, market pricing, and competitor activity.
Build lasting relationships with customers and vendors while representing the company professionally.
Participate in meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
Follow company policies and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in building materials, construction supply, distribution, wholesale, or a similar industry is an asset.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
A customer-first mindset with the ability to build strong relationships.
Experience with inventory management and purchasing is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
The ability to lead with confidence, accountability, and empathy.
