Outside Equipment Sales Representative

ACT Equipment – Oneonta, Alabama

Position Summary

ACT Equipment is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Outside Equipment Sales Representative to join our growing team in Oneonta, Alabama. This position is responsible for developing new business relationships while maintaining and growing existing customer accounts throughout our service area. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping customers find the right equipment solutions and will represent industry-leading brands with professionalism and integrity.

Parts and Service Solutions

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, farmers, municipalities, landscapers, industrial businesses, homeowners, and commercial customers.
Generate new business through cold calling, prospecting, referrals, networking, and scheduled customer visits.
Demonstrate equipment at customer locations and job sites.
Prepare equipment quotations and sales proposals.
Negotiate pricing and close equipment sales.
Maintain regular contact with existing customers to promote repeat business.
Stay knowledgeable about all equipment brands, specifications, financing options, and current promotions.
Coordinate with the parts, service, and rental departments to provide exceptional customer support.
Attend equipment demonstrations, trade shows, community events, and customer appreciation events.
Maintain an organized sales pipeline using CRM software.
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Follow up after every sale to ensure customer satisfaction.
Assist customers with financing, warranties, and equipment protection options.
Keep informed of competitor products and market conditions.

Qualifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Comfortable using computers, smartphones, email, and CRM software
Ability to travel throughout assigned sales territory

Preferred

Previous outside sales experience
Experience in construction, agriculture, landscaping, or equipment industries
Knowledge of compact construction equipment, tractors, mowers, or attachments
Experience operating heavy equipment
Existing relationships within the local contractor or agricultural community
