Full Job Description

Position Overview

Visionary Billing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to join our team in an in-person office environment. This role is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments from insurance carriers and patients while maintaining the integrity of client accounts. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to delivering accurate, timely results in a fast-paced medical billing setting.

Responsibilities

Accurately post and reconcile insurance and patient payments within established turnaround times.
Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs), and patient payments to ensure correct payment application.
Identify, research, and resolve payment posting discrepancies, including underpayments, overpayments, denials, and unapplied payments.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all payment transactions are documented according to company standards.
Balance daily payment batches and assist with reconciliation processes.
Collaborate with billing, accounts receivable, and collections teams to resolve account issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
Follow payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding payment trends, issues, and workflow improvements.
Support additional revenue cycle functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in medical payment posting, medical billing, or revenue cycle management preferred.
Experience with CollaborateMD Practice Management (PM) System strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing practices.
Ability to interpret EOBs, ERAs, payer adjustments, and contractual write-offs.
Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative office environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or billing certifications are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
