Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist Boerne to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients with precision and care, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation, and maintaining a compassionate approach to patient interaction. Your expertise will support diagnostic testing, patient care, and medical research efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to health outcomes while working in a dynamic clinical environment that values professionalism, accuracy, and patient service.

Responsibilities

Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other approved techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens to prevent errors in testing.
Maintain detailed medical documentation of procedures, patient conditions, and sample details in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide reassurance throughout the process.
Follow strict manual handling procedures to ensure safety for both patients and staff during specimen collection.
Report any patient condition changes or adverse reactions immediately to healthcare providers.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area, ensuring compliance with infection control standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in blood sampling or phlebotomy within a clinical setting; acute care or hospital experience is highly valued.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Critical Care Experience or Medical Terminology are advantageous.
Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and medical terminology.
Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient service.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR management) systems for accurate data entry and record keeping.
Experience working in diverse environments such as clinics, diagnostic radiology units, plastic surgery clinics, or surgical settings is preferred.
Ability to handle manual tasks safely during blood collection procedures and manage patient conditions reporting efficiently.
