Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electric Motor Builder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for independently assembling, constructing, and testing electric motors and their components based on specifications and customer requirements. This position requires proven, hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical components, along with a solid understanding of motor design, performance standards, and quality control procedures. Candidates should have a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in electric motor assembly or a closely related field

Key Responsibilities:

Motor Assembly: Assemble electric motors from component parts (rotors, stators, bearings, windings, housing, etc.) according to detailed blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications. Ensure all parts are correctly aligned and installed for optimal motor performance.
Winding and Stator Assembly: Wind copper wire into coils for the stator and rotor sections of electric motors, ensuring accurate coil windings, insulation, and connections. Follow detailed instructions for wire gauge, winding pattern, and coil tension.
Component Inspection: Inspect motor components and subassemblies for quality, ensuring parts meet required specifications. Identify defects, damaged parts, or imperfections, and communicate issues to the quality control team or supervisor. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests on assembled motors to verify functionality and performance. Use tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized motor testing equipment to measure output, efficiency, and operational parameters. Maintain quality standards by performing final inspections on completed motors. Record assembly processes, test results, and any defects or issues that arise. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Troubleshoot and adjust motor components during and after assembly, addressing any issues with motor performance or assembly defects. Make necessary repairs or modifications to motor parts to meet performance standards. Work closely with engineers, quality control specialists, and other assembly team members to meet production targets, solve technical problems, and maintain efficient workflows. Communicate any issues or improvements related to the motor-building process. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling electric motors, tools, and machinery. Ensure the workplace is organized and compliant with safety regulations.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling electric motors, tools, and machinery. Ensure the workplace is organized and compliant with safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or training in electrical, mechanical, or industrial technology is a plus.

Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in electric motor assembly, electrical assembly, or a similar manufacturing role, preferably in an industrial or mechanical environment.

Technical Skills:

· Knowledge of electric motor components and assembly techniques.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

· Experience with winding coils, motor insulation, and other key motor-building tasks.

· Familiarity with motor testing equipment and tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).

· Proficiency in hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment.

Skills & Attributes:

· Strong attention to detail and precision.

· Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues.

· Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

· Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to follow safety protocols.

Work Eligibility (ITAR): This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident or persons with protected status.
