Clinical Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Clinic Team in Boise. Our Clinical Teams are responsible for the coordination of patient care as directed by the provider following office visits and/or procedures. We offer a rewarding environment that allows for learning and growth opportunities. This position offers a great opportunity to learn complex GI disease processes with a fun and motivated team of medical professionals and providers!

Must possess: Good communication skills, basic computer skill, utilizes medical assisting processes, processes physician orders, and communicates clearly with patients, families, staff and physicians. Prior GI experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities of the job include but not limited to:

Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
Demonstrates ability to evaluate identified problems and obtain assistance to assess care provided and patient response.
Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used medications, action, dose and side-effects
Demonstrates knowledge of practice policies for ordering, transcribing, and recording medications.
Evaluates identified diagnoses; reassesses patient’s response to treatment plans to assure overall care provided meets patient’s needs.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation of care provided to assure integration of information used to provide quality care.
Assures inter-agency referral forms (labs orders, radiology procedures, other tests), and orders are complete and accurate.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment
Provides procedure education to patients prior to their procedures and answers any procedure preparation questions.

Educational requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, but not required
BLS and CPR Certification preferred, but not required! We offer in-house courses for these certifications.
