Paralegal/Legal Assistant
About the Role

Our law firm is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with two attorneys and additional staff members to handle core administrative and legal support duties, including client communications, litigation support, document preparation, and strict deadline calendaring.

This position offers a strong growth trajectory. You will start learning our foundational systems and processes, gradually progressing to more complex tasks, including litigation assistance as well as specialized support in trademark application preparation/filing and patent filing/docketing.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Document Support: Assist attorneys with court filings, case preparation, litigation support, and drafting legal documents.
Client Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear updates and professional assistance.
Docketing & Calendaring: Maintain firm schedules, track critical litigation and regulatory deadlines, and ensure compliance with court and office timelines.
IP Support: Prepare and file trademark applications and handle patent docketing (training provided).
Team Coordination: Collaborate daily with two firm attorneys and administrative staff to keep cases moving efficiently.

What We Are Looking For

Proactive Learner: Prior legal or litigation experience is not required, but you must be a self-starter who takes initiative, asks smart questions, and utilizes training manuals and online resources to solve problems.
Office & Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with a Gmail/Google Workspace environment is preferred. Willingness to learn new specialized software is essential.
Independent Worker: Ability to manage your time effectively and handle significant independent work after initial guidance.
Detail-Oriented: A high level of accuracy when managing litigation deadlines and preparing official documents.

Training & Onboarding

While we provide initial training and structured resources, success in this role relies heavily on hands-on learning, independent research, and active curiosity. We will give you the tools and instruction you need—you supply the drive to learn

Qualifications

Required: Prior general office experience.
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook/Gmail).
Preferred: Experience or familiarity with Google Workspace/Gmail.
Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
