Main responsibilities:
The Albertsons Merchandising Program (AMP) Sr. Program Manager is responsible for supporting company and divisional initiatives related to merchandising operations, including resets, NICIs, remodels, on shelf availability, reporting, and third-party execution management.
This role oversees end-to-end project planning and delivery for merchandising execution initiatives—developing detailed project plans, establishing timelines, defining scope, coordinating resources, tracking milestones, and ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within operational standards. The position drives day-to-day project execution, including cross functional communication, risk identification and mitigation, status reporting, and process documentation.
The AMP Sr. Program Manager will lead collaboration across store operations, national category directors, division merchandising, and supplier partners to ensure consistent, accurate, and on time merchandising execution. This includes managing workflows, optimizing execution processes, and coordinating with field teams and third-party partners to resolve issues quickly and drive continuous improvement.
This role provides a significant opportunity to shape merchandising execution transformation and improve shopping ease for customers. You will work closely with internal and external Technology teams to develop, test, and integrate emerging technologies and data science solutions—using insights, dashboards, and realtime data to enhance planning accuracy, execution quality, and operational efficiency.
The position will be based in Boise, Idaho or Pleasanton, California.
- Maintain and drive the evolution of our AMP business rhythms, reporting and documentation for the enterprise to drive organizational alignment
- Drives change and continually improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the Merchandising Program Management processes
- Evaluate and assess new initiatives to gain deep understanding of the goals & objectives to define program objectives, scope, requirements, and establish business priorities
- Develop program structure by identifying key stakeholders, assigning resources, etc.
- Lead and manage large complex enterprise-level programs including managing multiple cross functional teams, functional integrations, vendors, etc.
- Create and maintain proper artifacts that can be leveraged, including master schedules, decision logs, financials (estimates/budget/forecasts), etc.
- Analyze program objectives to determine and actively manage dependencies across teams and in-flight projects to coordinate implementation across all work streams within the program
- Provide recommendations regarding the key milestones and dependencies requiring visibility at the Sr Leadership level
- Perform ongoing program level risk management, identifying risks and driving teams to perform the needed mitigation or contingency planning
- Actively drive program level issues to closure or appropriately escalate to the Sr Leadership team
Create stakeholder communication plans including project status reporting to various audiences

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- 4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience
- 3+ years of program management experience w responsibilities spanning interdependent projects
- Strong project management skills and experience with data visualization tools
- Technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and project management software
- Demonstrated ability to identify, manage and resolve cross-track program level issues and risks
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and train team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities in meeting business deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills
- Must possess superior problem-solving skills, be action-oriented and decisive
- Self-motivated, strong time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables
- Previous experience with medium to large projects in Retail Companies is a plus
- Previous experience in construction project management (desired)

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
