Full Job Description

The State Insurance Fund (SIF) is Idaho’s leading workers compensation insurance provider. Since our inception in 1917, SIF has been dedicated to Idaho businesses and their injured workers. Our employees are the face of SIF and crucial to providing exceptional customer service. The majority of our policyholders are small businesses that are the backbone of Idaho’s economy. We are proud to offer services to help protect their employees and support their financial strength.

We are currently seeking an Associate level Premium Auditor to join our team! This position is responsible for conducting workers compensation premium virtual audits, reviewing, and updating risk exposure, as well as assisting policyholders and agents with their inquiries regarding premium audits.

You’ll be responsible for:

Perform virtual audits of policyholder payroll records, systems and other related documents as required to facilitate adjustment of premium within the policy contract, Idaho law, and applicable National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) rules and regulations; provide comprehensive written audit reports within established timeframes and audit standards.
Review policyholder operations to include business ownership, change of exposure, claims, and NCCI classifications.
Work with Underwriter to review exposure concerns.
Work closely with vendor partners to ensure SIF audit standards are met.
Process Other States Coverage audit functions, which includes sending reports and processing financial adjustments.
Establish and maintain professional customer service relationships with policyholders, their representatives, and insurance agents.
Maintain knowledge of current industry changes and trends that include NCCI, Idaho Code, legal decisions, and SIF standards.

Your background should include:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics (or a related discipline), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a workers compensation insurance setting.
Working knowledge of laws associated with workers compensation insurance underwriting including NCCI guidelines and Idaho Code Title 72.
Proficiency using desktop applications, e.g., Microsoft Office products, to generate emails, forms/letters, reports, and presentations as well as search and download information from the internet.
Ability to interpret and explain insurance laws and policy contracts.
Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations involving decimals, fractions, and percentages.
Capability to gather sensitive and confidential information through effective interviewing.
Capability of producing grammatically correct reports in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and high level of organizational skills.
Strong time management capabilities with ability to independently complete work assignments within specified timeframes.
