Jaymark is a custom cabinetry and architectural millwork company serving high-end residential projects throughout Boise, McCall, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically capable person to assist our lead cabinet installer. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position involving the installation of custom cabinetry, panels, trim, mouldings, and related millwork.
The right candidate will be organized, productive, professional in clients’ homes, comfortable using tools, and interested in developing into a skilled cabinet installer.
Cabinet installation experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train someone with strong mechanical aptitude, construction experience, reliability, and a desire to learn.
Duties
- Assist the lead installer with installation of custom cabinetry, panels, trim, mouldings, and architectural millwork
- Load, unload, carry, and stage cabinets, tools, hardware, and materials
- Prepare work areas and protect floors, walls, countertops, and surrounding finishes
- Organize tools, fasteners, hardware, and installation materials
- Assist with measuring, leveling, fastening, fitting, trimming, scribing, and hardware installation
- Read and follow drawings, measurements, scopes, and installation instructions
- Anticipate the needs of the lead installer and keep tools and materials ready
- Identify missing materials, damage, field conditions, or installation concerns
- Make approved supply and material runs when needed
- Remove packaging, debris, and waste throughout the workday
- Keep jobsites, tools, vehicles, and work areas clean and organized
- Communicate professionally and concisely with coworkers, contractors, and clients
- Follow company safety policies and jobsite requirements
- Help complete installations efficiently while maintaining Jaymark’s quality standards
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools
- Construction, finish-carpentry, cabinet-shop, remodeling, furniture, or installation experience preferred
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and basic layout tools
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and sense of urgency
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a two-person installation team
- Good organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Professional appearance and conduct in occupied and high-end homes
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy cabinetry and materials
- Ability to stand, kneel, climb, bend, and work for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license
- Driving record acceptable to Jaymark and its insurance carrier
- Reliable attendance and transportation
Travel Requirements
This position requires regular out-of-town travel to locations including McCall, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, and other regional markets.
Some projects may require working out of town Monday through Thursday for multiple consecutive weeks. Employees generally return home on weekends, although schedules may vary based on project needs.
Jaymark provides or reimburses approved transportation, lodging, and eligible travel expenses. Required travel time is paid, and a meal per diem is provided for approved overnight assignments.
Applicants must be willing and able to:
- Travel overnight regularly
- Work out of town Monday through Thursday
- Participate in assignments lasting multiple consecutive weeks
- Remain flexible as project schedules and locations change
- Maintain professional conduct while representing Jaymark
Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent upon:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Maintaining a driving record acceptable to Jaymark and its insurance carrier
- Remaining free from illegal drug use and impairment while working, driving, operating equipment, or representing Jaymark
Criminal convictions will be evaluated based on the nature and seriousness of the offense, how recently it occurred, and its relevance to the position.
Compensation
$20.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated ability.
Applicants near the upper end of the range should already have meaningful construction, finish-carpentry, cabinet, or installation experience and be capable of completing basic installation tasks with limited supervision.
