PSK America is seeking two Field Service Engineers to support customer sites at the following locations:
- Boise, Idaho – 1 position
- Manassas, Virginia – 1 position
Domestic travel of up to approximately 30% may be required.
Position Summary
The Field Service Engineer provides on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
This position is intended for an early-career engineer who has completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and has some practical experience with semiconductor equipment, manufacturing equipment, electronics, mechanical systems, or related technical work.
The selected candidate will receive equipment-specific training and will work closely with experienced engineers, customers, and PSK engineering teams.
Work Schedule
The position may require flexibility based on customer and operational needs, including:
- Day or night shifts
- On-call support
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
- Occasional call-back support
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, procedures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Use standard test instruments, diagnostic tools, and hand tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities at customer sites.
- Provide timely and professional technical support based on customer feedback and operational needs.
- Support efforts to improve equipment availability, reliability, and performance.
- Review equipment data and service history to identify recurring issues and potential future problems.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities related to equipment, processes, materials, and service methods.
- Prepare accurate and detailed service reports, maintenance records, and project updates.
- Provide basic equipment operation and maintenance guidance to customer personnel as needed.
- Communicate technical issues and improvement ideas to PSK engineers and headquarters teams.
- Participate in technical training provided by PSK America or PSK headquarters.
- Travel to other customer sites or company locations for training and operational support when required.
- Follow all customer-site, company, environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
- Establish individual goals aligned with company and team objectives and regularly report progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or another closely related engineering discipline.
- At least 1 year of relevant technical experience in semiconductor equipment, manufacturing equipment, field service, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, or a related engineering environment.
- Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, or vacuum systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with customers and internal teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 30%.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including on-call, overtime, weekends, or night shifts when required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Visa sponsorship and employment-based permanent residency sponsorship are not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment or other complex industrial equipment.
- Experience with CVD, etch, ash, dry strip, vacuum, plasma, robotics, or cluster-tool systems.
- Experience working in a semiconductor fab or cleanroom environment.
- Experience with equipment installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, diagnostics, or field service.
- Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting, mechanical assemblies, vacuum systems, pneumatics, sensors, robotics, or PLC-controlled equipment.
- Experience communicating directly with customers in a technical support environment.
Compensation
The anticipated Base salary range for this position is:
$73,000–$83,000 per year
Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s education, relevant experience, technical skills, location, and overall qualifications.
