Full Job Description

Job Overview
This role requires excellent communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work independently while ensuring the highest standards of care.

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to be a Private Duty School Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year.

The RN will supervise and care for pediatric patients during school hours and will be paired with a child who has complex medical needs including, but not limited to, DM, seizure disorders, developmental delays, tracheostomies, cardiovascular anomalies, and more. The nurse should have experience with pediatric patient care and the management of complex disease processes. The schedule is weekdays (M-F) during school hours. Exact student hours and days are subject to change based upon the child’s health, school attendance, and bus schedule. Competitive hourly rate. Please apply for specifics. The RN needs to be able to provide consistent workdays, so the child can continue to attend school regularly.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to children in a school, focusing on individual needs and preferences.
Monitor children's health by performing assessments and documenting vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition in accordance with the care plan.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide health coaching and education to children and their families regarding disease management, pain management, and overall wellness.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for patients requiring support due to health conditions.
Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and communicate effectively with family members regarding patient status.

Qualifications

Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of Idaho.
Experience in pediatric healthcare
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
Ability to work independently while adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
