ENTRY LEVEL SAW AND MATERIAL PREPARATION PERSONNEL- WILLING TO TRAIN POSITION WILL START IN MCKINNEY AND MOVE TO BONHAM IN A FEW MONTHS.
Vector Systems, Inc. is a manufacturer of skid-based equipment and is looking to hire saw and material preparation for skids and other equipment.
Summary: This is an entry level position and we are willing to train the right candidate.Plan, cut (by band saw, cross cut cold saw, shear, et.), and prepare (grind, sand, and/or bevel ends) all material used on projects for VSI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A. Perform material preparation assignments per the fabrication drawings.
B. Log and track pertinent data (MTR HT#, Dwg No-Item No, etc.) on drawings such that material can have full traceability.
C. Log time to correct work-center/operation on each drawing (job) timely and accurately.
D. Stay trained on equipment and maintain working knowledge of industry requirements required to perform duties
E. Follow OSHA and Safety guidelines in the manufacturing environment.
F. Any other duties as assigned by the Welding Supervisor.
Education / Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Experience working in a mechanical / manual laborer capacity a plus
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment using metal materials
· History of good attitude and work ethic
· Attendance is a top priority
Knowledge / Skills:
· Ability to read basic instructions and follow them as well as verbal instructions
· Basic reading and math
· Machine operation such as saw, ironworker, drill press, mill, etc. a plus
· Some mechanical aptitude or basic hand tool knowledge
· Ability to use and read a tape measure / ruler in both English and metric measurements
· Good manual dexterity; hand/eye coordination
· Ability to physically lift 65 lbs
· Work on your feet for long durations
· Operate and/or overhead crane certification a plus
· Operation and/or forklift certification a plus
Other Information:
· Could work in two shop locations: McKinney, TX and Greenville, TX
· Ambient air shop but with controlled work environment
· Temp to perm hire positions – M-Thu 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Overtime as Req’d
· Job Type: Full-time (thru Temp to Perm in most cases)
· Pay: Hourly, commensurate with experience. Please send desired wage.
