As we continue to grow, we're looking for motivated, hands-on team members who want to build a long-term career in cannabis sales.

Position Summary

The Junior Account Executive (Jr. AE) plays a foundational role in supporting the growth of the CAKE brand by driving account engagement, executing sales initiatives, and ensuring strong in-store brand presence throughout California and Arizona. This entry-level role is designed as a launchpad into a broader sales career, providing hands-on experience in retail relationship management, merchandising, and tactical sales execution alongside experienced Account Executives.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccount Support & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong working relationships with retail partners throughout the assigned California/Arizona territory.
Support in-store events, product demonstrations, vendor days, product launches, and brand activations.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for retail staff by answering product questions and supporting product education efforts.
Promote positive relationships that support account retention and growth.

Sales Execution

Partner with Account Executives to assist with order follow-ups, merchandising initiatives, and retail execution.
Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory needs to internal sales teams.
Gather and report customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends to support territory development.
Assist with new product launches and promotional initiatives.

Brand Representation & Merchandising

Ensure CAKE brand standards are consistently maintained across retail locations.
Distribute, install, and maintain approved in-store marketing materials, signage, displays, and promotional items.
Support retail partners with merchandising best practices and product visibility initiatives.
Deliver marketing materials, samples (where permitted), and event supplies as assigned.

Administrative & Reporting Support

Maintain accurate visit logs, activity tracking, and account notes within the CRM system.
Submit timely photos, market insights, and visit recaps following retail visits and events.
Monitor online retail platforms and menus to help ensure accurate product listings, descriptions, and imagery.
Complete required reports and administrative tasks within established deadlines.

QualificationsRequired

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Eligible to work in the cannabis industry in California and able to comply with all applicable state and local cannabis regulations.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain organization in a field-based environment.
Ability to travel regularly throughout an assigned territory.
Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred

1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, brand ambassador, merchandising, or a related field.
Familiarity with California cannabis products, regulations, and retail operations.
Experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital collaboration tools.

Performance Expectations

Maintain consistent communication with assigned Account Executive and sales leadership.
Represent the CAKE brand professionally, authentically, and enthusiastically.
Meet established visit, merchandising, and reporting expectations.
Support account growth and retention through excellent service and execution.
Contribute to overall territory sales goals through consistent field performance.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position requiring frequent travel throughout the assigned California territory. The role includes in-person retail visits, event support, and remote administrative work.

Employees should be able to:

Frequently drive between retail locations.
Regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach during retail visits and events.
Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Use computers, mobile devices, CRM platforms, and standard office software.
