Bar Supervisor
Pay: $23-$26 (Based on experience) plus tips
Position Overview
Blue Ridge Mountain Club is seeking an experienced, service-driven Bar Supervisor to lead daily bar operations while serving as a front-of-house leader for the restaurant team. This role combines exceptional bartending skills with operational leadership to deliver an elevated member experience, ensure consistent beverage quality, and support seamless restaurant operations.
Working in close collaboration with the Food & Beverage Service Manager, the Bar Supervisor assists in executing the club's service standards, beverage program, staff development initiatives, and daily operational goals. This position serves as the shift leader during assigned service periods, providing direction, coaching, and support to bartenders, servers, and restaurant associates while helping maintain the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional, personalized service to members and guests.
- Build lasting relationships through genuine hospitality and thoughtful food and beverage recommendations.
- Create memorable dining experiences while ensuring prompt, friendly, and professional service.
Beverage Program
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Execute classic and craft cocktails with consistency and attention to detail.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, bourbon, whiskey, and seasonal offerings.
- Partner with the Food & Beverage Service Manager to develop seasonal cocktails, beverage features, and member experiences.
- Stay informed on industry trends and recommend enhancements to the beverage program.
Restaurant & Bar Operations
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures for the restaurant and bar as assigned.
- Ensure all service areas are clean, organized, stocked, and operational throughout each shift.
- Assist with beverage inventory, organization, storage standards, and maintaining established par levels.
- Monitor product quality, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the bar.
- Ensure side work, cleaning responsibilities, and operational checklists are completed.
- Assist with cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and daily operational reporting.
- Process and verify daily tip distribution for bartenders and restaurant associates in accordance with club policies.
Collaboration & Administrative Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Service Manager to achieve departmental goals and maintain operational excellence.
- Coordinate communication between the dining room, bar, kitchen, and management team to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate operational concerns, staffing needs, maintenance issues, and inventory opportunities to the Food & Beverage Service Manager.
- Support special events, tournaments, and club programming.
- Assist with additional front-of-house responsibilities as assigned.
Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as the front-of-house shift leader during assigned shifts.
- Lead by example while promoting professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional hospitality.
- Coach, mentor, and support bartenders, servers, and restaurant associates throughout each shift.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of front-of-house team members.
- Reinforce club service standards and provide real-time coaching to ensure consistency.
- Conduct or assist with pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
- Monitor service quality, ticket flow, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction throughout service.
- Assist with service recovery and resolve member concerns professionally.
Property-Wide Support
- Support Food & Beverage operations across all club outlets, including the restaurant, bars, pool, Trailside Eats, and special event venues.
- Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of member events, tournaments, weddings, holiday celebrations, wine dinners, and other club functions.
- Ensure beverage service standards, cleanliness, organization, and hospitality expectations are consistently maintained throughout the property.
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Service Manager, Executive Chef, Member Services, and Events teams to deliver seamless member experiences.
- Adapt to operational needs by providing leadership and support wherever needed to ensure the success of club operations.
- Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Food & Beverage Service Manager when assigned.v
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all North Carolina ABC laws and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and professionally manage intoxicated guests.
- Maintain compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all Blue Ridge Mountain Club policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of bartending experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, private club, or comparable hospitality environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and craft cocktails.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective under pressure.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a private club, resort, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Experience with beverage inventory management and ordering.
- Experience training and developing front-of-house team members.
- Extensive knowledge of bourbon, whiskey, and elevated beverage programs.
- Experience with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems.
- ServSafe Alcohol Certification (or ability to obtain).
Work Environment & Expectations

- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
