Job Overview (Seasonal Position - Now until Oct 31, 2026)
The Assistant Banquet Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all club, private, and member events, ensuring exceptional food and beverage service and memorable guest experiences. This position assists in managing banquet operations across all club venues, supervises front-line banquet staff, and works closely with the Banquet Manager to uphold the highest standards of hospitality, efficiency, and professionalism.
As a key leader within the Food & Beverage team, the Assistant Banquet Manager serves as a pillar of the operation and must be capable of performing every front-of-house banquet role as needed at Blowing Rock Country Club (BRCC). This position is expected to remain informed and up to date on the Club's event calendar and all upcoming functions. The ability to take event details, anticipate operational needs, and transform them into seamless, memorable experiences for members and guests is essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities
a) Inspect to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met
b) Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized
c) Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department
d) Consults with the Executive Chef, Director of Service and training, Food & Beverage Manager and other applicable club administrators daily to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction at minimum cost
e) Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine, random basis
f) Develops on-going professional development and training programs for the service and bar production/service personnel
g) Ensures correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste
h) Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the F&B manager about appropriate corrective actions taken
i) Assists in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and banquet functions
j) Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities
k) Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
l) Manages physical inventory verification and provides updated information to the accounting department
m) Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the Point of Sale systems and member revenues
n) Assures all billing is generated and accurate before sending it to the Accounting Department
Skills
a) A degree in Hospitality Management preferred but not required
b) Two or more years of work experience in hospitality field
c) Strong time management and organizational skills
d) Attention to detail
e) A friendly, attentive attitude and professional appearance
f) A passion for providing members and guests with high-quality service
g) Ability to quickly identify members by name
h) Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
i) The ability to coach, train and mentor supervisors and hourly employees
Pay: $24.00 per hour
