About Energy Fishing & Rental Services
Energy Fishing & Rental Services, Inc. is an oilfield service provider specializing in fishing and surface rental, BOP services, thru-tubing, and pump down services. We support operators across the Permian Basin and beyond with experienced field personnel and well-maintained equipment. Our Odessa district is a core part of that footprint, and the people who run our trucks are central to how we deliver.
Home District: 1390 W IH 20, Odessa, TX 79763
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28 – $36 per hour, DOE + overtime
Schedule: 6 days on / 1 off
About the Role
EFRS is hiring a CDL Class A Driver out of our Odessa district to handle both light-duty and heavy-duty hauls supporting active well site operations across the Midland/Odessa area and surrounding counties.
Day to day, this driver will move tools, rental equipment, and job packages between the yard, customer locations, and well sites — running everything from a pickup and gooseneck to a heavy-duty tractor-trailer depending on the load. Winch truck experience is required, since some hauls call for a winch truck and we need a driver who can step into that seat without a learning curve.
This is a hands-on field position. You will be strapping, chaining, and rigging loads, not just driving.
What You'll Do
- Operate company vehicles ranging from light-duty trucks and gooseneck trailers to heavy-duty tractor-trailers and winch trucks, as the job requires
- Haul, deliver, and pick up fishing and thru-tubing tools, BOP stacks, pump down equipment, surface rental equipment, tanks, skids, and related tools
- Load and unload equipment safely using forklifts, cranes, straps, chains, and — when running the winch truck — winch line and gin poles
- Rig up and rig down equipment at customer well sites as needed
- Inspect straps, chains, binders, slings, winch line, blocks, and hooks before each use; remove damaged rigging from service
- Secure all loads in accordance with FMCSA cargo securement standards; verify weights, dimensions, height, and permit requirements
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and submit accurate Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Maintain Hours of Service records and all required DOT logs (ELD)
- Communicate with dispatch, district personnel, and customer representatives regarding load status, delays, and site conditions
- Assist yard and shop personnel with equipment staging, cleaning, and inventory when not on the road
- Follow all company, customer, and DOT safety policies, including site-specific JSAs and stop-work authority
- Perform routine equipment care — fluid checks, greasing, minor field maintenance — and report mechanical issues promptly
- Complete field tickets, delivery paperwork, and required documentation accurately and on time
What You Need
- Valid CDL Class A with a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Current DOT medical certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Verifiable winch truck experience — you should be comfortable running a winch truck when a haul calls for it
- Experience operating both light-duty and heavy-duty equipment
- Working knowledge of load securement, rigging practices, and weight/height restrictions
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and to participate in the DOT random testing pool (49 CFR Part 382)
- Reside within reasonable commuting distance of the Odessa/Midland area
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and be on call as operations require
Preferred
- Tanker and/or Hazmat endorsement
- Prior oilfield or energy services experience in the Permian Basin
- Current SafeLand / PEC / H2S Awareness certification
- Forklift certification
- TWIC card
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–75 lbs regularly
- Climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and work at heights and in confined areas
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
- Wear required PPE at all times, including FR clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots
- Wear a respirator and pass a fit test where required
What We Offer
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Paid time off and holidays
- Company-provided FR clothing and PPE
