Full Job Description

Experienced Journeyman Electrician – Edwards AFB

Miwok Global is seeking a highly experienced Journeyman Electrician for full-time work at Edwards Air Force Base, California. This is not an entry-level, helper, or apprentice position.

A current, valid Journeyman Electrician card or recognized journeyman-level credential is required. The selected electrician must be able to independently plan, lay out, install, troubleshoot, and complete commercial or industrial electrical work with limited supervision.

Compensation

$65.40 per hour base wage.

$22.15 per hour in applicable fringe benefits.

Pay and fringe benefits will be administered in accordance with the Davis-Bacon wage determination incorporated into the project contract and the employee’s assigned classification.

Expected schedule is approximately 40 hours per week. Overtime, shift work, or weekend work may be required by the project schedule.

Required Qualifications

Current, valid Journeyman Electrician card or recognized journeyman-level credential.

Substantial commercial, industrial, or federal electrical construction experience.

Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and safe electrical construction practices.

Ability to independently read and interpret plans, specifications, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and installation details.

Demonstrated ability to bend and install EMT and rigid conduit.

Experience pulling, labeling, terminating, and testing conductors.

Experience installing panels, devices, fixtures, raceways, and electrical equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and identify field conflicts.

Reliable transportation, dependable attendance, and a valid driver’s license.

Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and work from ladders or aerial lifts.

Ability to obtain and maintain authorization to access Edwards Air Force Base.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous federal, military, USACE, NAVFAC, or DoD construction experience.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.

Aerial-lift or scissor-lift certification.

Current first-aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Plan, lay out, and perform journeyman-level electrical installations.

Install conduit, raceways, conductors, panels, devices, fixtures, and electrical equipment.

Read and follow electrical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

Verify installations meet applicable code, contract, quality, and safety requirements.

Troubleshoot, test, repair, and document electrical systems.

Coordinate material and equipment needs with the project supervisor.

Identify field conflicts before they affect safety, quality, or schedule.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Guide apprentices or electrical helpers when assigned.

Security and Base Access

Employment is contingent upon the applicant’s ability to obtain and maintain authorization to access Edwards Air Force Base. The selected candidate must complete all legally permitted background screening, identity verification, drug testing, and security procedures required by Miwok Global, the project contract, and Edwards AFB. Failure to obtain or maintain required installation access may make an individual ineligible for this position.
