Summary
The Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer provides leadership for institutional strategy, innovation, organizational effectiveness, and strategic initiatives that advance the mission and long-term vision of Central Catholic High School. Working closely with the President and members of the Leadership Team, the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer leads the implementation of strategic priorities, identifies opportunities for growth and innovation, develops new programs and partnerships, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement throughout the school.
The Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer works cross-functionally across academic, operational, advancement, enrollment, and administrative areas of the school to align strategic priorities, advance institutional goals, and support the successful implementation of major initiatives. Through research, strategic planning, partnership development, project leadership, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies, the position helps ensure that Central Catholic remains responsive to the evolving needs of students, families, faculty, staff, and the broader community.
This position reports to the President.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness
- Leads the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school’s Strategic Plan.
- Collaborates with the President and Leadership Team to establish strategic priorities and implementation timelines.
- Develop systems for measuring progress toward strategic goals and key performance indicators.
- Conducts institutional research and analysis to support long-range planning and organizational effectiveness.
- Identifies opportunities to improve systems, processes, and organizational performance.
- Monitors educational, demographic, workforce, and technology trends to inform strategic decision-making.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies
- Leads innovation initiatives across academic, administrative, and student-facing areas of the school.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and their application within education and school operations.
- Recommends innovative practices and solutions that enhance teaching, learning, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develops and oversees pilot programs designed to test and evaluate new ideas, technologies, and approaches.
- Supports a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the school community.
Program Development & Strategic Initiatives
- Identifies, develops, and evaluates new academic, co-curricular, and institutional programs aligned with the school’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Leads the development and expansion of Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELOs) through strategic partnerships, program development, and innovative learning experiences.
- Collaborates with the Academic Dean and Dean of Teaching & Learning to ensure Expanded Learning Opportunities align with academic standards, learning outcomes, and graduation requirements.
- Explores opportunities for dual enrollment programs, internships, workforce development partnerships, independent learning experiences, and career-connected learning opportunities.
- Leads special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the President.
- Coordinates and supports cross-functional projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Evaluates the effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability of new initiatives and programs.
Partnership Development & External Relations
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with colleges, universities, businesses, community organizations, foundations, and industry leaders.
- Serves as the school’s lead administrator for partnerships that support innovation, Expanded Learning Opportunities, workforce readiness, student learning, and institutional advancement.
- Identifies opportunities for collaboration that enhance student learning, enrollment growth, institutional advancement, and community engagement.
- Pursues grants and external funding opportunities that support innovation, strategic initiatives, and program development.
- Represents the school in external partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
Technology Planning & Innovation
- Collaborates with academic leadership and technology staff to ensure technology initiatives support the school’s strategic priorities.
- Provides leadership for institutional technology planning and innovation initiatives.
- Consults on significant technology investments and initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Technology and Campus Operations on projects involving technology planning, implementation, and organizational improvement.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Works collaboratively with Academic Leadership, Advancement, Admissions, Marketing & Communications, Technology, Facilities, Athletics, and other departments to advance institutional priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Partners with Marketing & Communications to promote strategic initiatives, partnerships, innovation efforts, Expanded Learning Opportunities, and new program development.
- Collaborates with Advancement on grant opportunities, partnership development, and initiatives that support institutional growth and innovation.
- Works with academic and administrative leaders to ensure strategic initiatives are effectively communicated, implemented, and assessed.
- Leads cross-functional teams and project groups in support of strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
- Facilitates communication, collaboration, and accountability among stakeholders involved in major projects and initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to administrators, faculty, and staff on matters related to strategic planning, innovation, organizational effectiveness, and program development.
Leadership
- Serves as a member of the President’s Leadership Team.
- Advises the President and senior leadership on strategic opportunities, innovation initiatives, emerging trends, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develops reports and presentations for the President, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
- Provides leadership and guidance to faculty, staff, and administrators related to strategic initiatives and innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in strategic planning, innovation, organizational leadership, program development, or related areas.
- Experience leading organizational change and managing complex strategic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of educational innovation, emerging technologies, and institutional effectiveness.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Central Catholic High School.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Physical Requirements
Mobility & Movement
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 6-8 hours per day).
- Ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, writing, grading, and manipulating material.
Sensory Requirements
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken directions at a conversational level, as well as the ability to distinguish and interpret sounds (e.g., a whisper, fire alarm, or distress calls from students) in a noisy environment.
- Ability to clearly articulate verbal information to students, parents, and colleagues, including the ability to project one's voice in a classroom or auditorium setting.
Stamina and Duration
- : Ability to sit for moderate periods to complete administrative tasks.
Safety and Emergency Management
- Ability to physically respond quickly to emergencies, safety concerns, or unexpected physical demands (e.g., intervening in a student dispute, assisting an injured student, or performing emergency evacuation procedures).
- Ability to push or pull classroom furniture or equipment as needed.
Compensation: Salary & Benefits
Central Catholic is committed to offering salaries and benefits that are highly competitive relative to similar Catholic secondary schools.
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of education, experience and certifications.
The salary range for this position is $118,000 to $125,000.
