Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Director of Clinic-Based Services is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, programming, and staff development within a center-based ABA clinic. This position ensures high-quality, evidence-based services for individuals with autism and related developmental disorders, while fostering a collaborative, supportive, and compliant clinic environment. The Clinical Director provides clinical supervision to Behavior Analysts and direct care staff, develops treatment programs, and ensures that the clinic operates in alignment with the organization’s mission, regulatory standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight
Direct the overall clinical operations of the clinic-based ABA program.
Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized treatment plans (ITPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and supervise clinical decision-making.
Ensure all services are consistent with ABA best practices, BACB ethical standards, and payer requirements.
Regularly review treatment data to ensure progress toward clinical goals and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director of Home-Based Services and the Clinical Director of Telehealth Services.

Supervision & Staff Development

Maintain a caseload (can be adjusted in a collaborative effort as clinic capacity & attendance grows)
Provide clinical supervision to BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians/Behavior Technicians (RBTs/BTs).
Lead training and ongoing professional development for clinical staff.
Work collaboratively with Human Resources to conduct performance evaluations, give constructive feedback, and support career growth pathways.
Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that promotes collaboration and staff retention.

Family & Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain strong, supportive relationships with families, ensuring consistent communication about client progress and treatment updates.
Provide parent training and caregiver support to promote generalization of skills.
Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and external agencies to coordinate care.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure clinical services comply with BACB and insurance payer guidelines.
Work collaboratively with Clinic Office Manager to ensure clinic operations comply with HIPAA, compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting.
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure fidelity of interventions and overall program excellence.
Stay informed about ABA research, clinical innovations, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required; BCBA-D preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in ABA service delivery, including at least 2 years in a leadership or director-level role.
Demonstrated experience in clinic-based ABA programming.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to balance clinical oversight with operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience managing clinic operations and staff scheduling.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and ABA practice management platforms.
Knowledge of insurance authorization, utilization review, and compliance processes.
Strong conflict resolution and crisis management abilities.

Work Environment

Based in the ABA clinic with some flexibility for administrative work performed remotely.
Standard clinic hours with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities to meet program and family needs.
Leadership role requires visibility, accessibility, and regular interaction with staff, clients, and families.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour
