Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this energetic role, you will manage payroll processes with precision and efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for our employees. Your expertise in payroll management systems and accounting software will drive seamless payroll execution, supporting our commitment to employee satisfaction and organizational compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar HRIS platforms
Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and account reconciliation procedures
Maintain and update employee records related to benefits administration, tax information, and compensation changes
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations by preparing necessary reports and documentation
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to manage timekeeping data, benefits deductions, and leave management
Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and perform double entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy in financial statements
Assist with audits by providing detailed reports on payroll activities, tax filings, and account reconciliations

Requirements

Proven experience managing payroll using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex or similar payroll management systems
Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries
Familiarity with financial software like QuickBooks or other accounting software applications
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency)
Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing and benefits administration
Ability to analyze financial data effectively and identify discrepancies or errors
Experience working within human resources or corporate accounting environments is preferred
Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
