Executive Practice Administrator / General Manager

Cambridge Dental Center | Cambridge, Massachusetts

Salary: $95,000 - $145,000 per year + Performance Bonus

Lead One of the Most Prestigious Dental Practices in New England

Cambridge Dental Center is seeking an exceptional Executive Practice Administrator / General Manager to lead the operations of our state-of-the-art, multi-specialty dental practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This is not a traditional office manager position.

Position Summary

The Executive Practice Administrator serves as the operational leader of the practice.

Working directly with the doctors and executive leadership, you will oversee all non-clinical operations while creating an environment where patients receive an exceptional experience and team members perform at their highest level.

You will lead through coaching, accountability, systems, and culture, not simply supervision.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building organizations, improving performance, mentoring leaders, and driving measurable results.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership

Inspire, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing administrative team
Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, service, and continuous improvement
Recruit, onboard, and retain exceptional talent
Conduct daily leadership huddles and weekly operational meetings
Develop future leaders within the organization
Provide treatment coordination support and demonstrate knowledge of dental insurance

Operational Excellence

Optimize scheduling and maximize provider productivity
Improve treatment acceptance and patient conversion
Monitor key performance indicators including production, collections, case acceptance, patient retention, scheduling efficiency, and patient satisfaction
Ensure operational consistency and workflow excellence
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement

Patient Experience

Deliver a concierge-level patient experience
Resolve patient concerns with professionalism and empathy
Build long-term patient relationships through outstanding service
Maintain the highest standards of hospitality and communication

Financial Management

Manage budgets and operational expenses
Oversee insurance workflows and financial arrangements
Improve collections while maintaining exceptional patient satisfaction
Analyze reports and implement data-driven improvements

Compliance

Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and regulatory compliance
Ensure organizational policies and procedures are consistently followed

QualificationsRequired

5+ years of successful dental practice management experience
Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams
Strong financial and business acumen
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience managing multi-provider practices
Knowledge of dental insurance, treatment planning, and patient financing
Experience with dental practice management software such as CareStack, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar platforms
Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing people
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment

Preferred

Experience managing practices producing $5 million or more annually
Multi-specialty dental practice experience
Luxury hospitality, concierge healthcare, or high-end service experience
Experience implementing operational systems and performance metrics
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
MBA or MHA preferred
