General Manager- Company Overview

Honeycomb is a popular bakery and cafe in Hamilton, MA, expanding to Marblehead this winter. We are a company that values quality products, a learning environment and genuine camaraderie. We believe great hospitality starts with a team that cares deeply about what they do and takes pride in creating a place where people want to gather.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our opening team in Marblehead. This role combines day-to-day operations, beverage management and staff development to keep our service sharp, warm and consistent.

The General Manager will play a key role in shaping the culture and day-to-day success of our new location. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a team, establish systems and create an environment where both our staff and guests thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of the cafe and dining room, ensuring warm, thoughtful and consistent hospitality.
Hire, train and develop a strong team rooted in support, creativity and positivity.
Oversee staff performance, scheduling and communication across the whole house.
Manage the beverage program and ensure quality and consistency across service.
Create and implement efficient systems and processes that support a smooth operation.
Cultivate a positive team culture and learning environment through clear communication and strong leadership.
Elevate the guest experience by maintaining high standards for quality, hospitality and service.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who delights in making others happy. They care deeply about quality ingredients and are constantly thinking of ways to elevate the guest experience and support their team. They are energized by a room full of guests enjoying each other’s company and love the buzz of a busy cafe or dining room.

Required

Previous experience in a General Manager, Restaurant Manager or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of restaurant or cafe operations.
Experience hiring, training and developing a team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lead with warmth, accountability and consistency.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Preferred

Experience with both cafe and full-service restaurant operations.
Beverage management experience.
Experience opening a new restaurant, cafe or hospitality concept.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year
