***THIS IS A 12-MONTH CONTRACT WITH POTENTIAL OF EXTENSION/CONVERSION***

Location: Bedford, MA (no relocation provided)

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm, 100% onsite

Pay: $30-35/hr

Description:

A Product Engineer within the Filtration Research and Development department will assist in the design, development, and testing of novel filtration products/technologies suitable for the manufacture of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals.

In this role as an entry-level product development engineer, you will contribute to technology and product development projects to deliver advanced filtration and solid/liquid separation technologies intended for a wide range of bioprocessing applications.

You will apply solid scientific and engineering principles to:

assist with the development and testing of filtration products in a collaborative environment
leverage personal and institutional knowledge to achieve project goals and timelines
perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting filtration components
support engineering projects through data analysis, documentation, and reporting.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Entry-Level Focus: This is a junior-level role. Recent college graduates ("green grads") with strong foundational knowledge are highly encouraged to apply. (Note: Candidates with a Master’s degree or extensive industry experience may be overqualified for this specific opening).

Required Skills

Laboratory Proficiency: Hands-on experience with basic chemistry or biochemical laboratory techniques, standard lab equipment, and safety protocols.
Analytical Software: Proficiency in data processing and statistical analysis software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Minitab.
Engineering Principles: Ability to apply core scientific and engineering fundamentals to practical, hands-on testing and troubleshooting of filtration components.
Documentation & Reporting: Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately analyze data, document processes, and generate technical reports to support engineering projects.
Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional R&D team environment.

Preferred (but not required) Skills

Prior coursework, internship, or lab experience involving filtration technologies or solid/liquid separation.
Familiarity with bioreactors or cell culture processes.
Knowledge of chemical reactions and synthesis.
Experience using engineering simulation software.
