Full Job Description

Our client specializing in real estate development is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting functions. The role offers an estimated pay range of $140,000-$200,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. This position provides a flexible hybrid work schedule, including three days in-office and two days remote each week.

Responsibilities

Lead development accounting for current data center projects, including setup and maintenance of job cost systems
Analyze and reforecast development costs; assist with scenario analysis
Calculate management and incentive fees; review contracts for payment terms and allocations
Manage seamless transition from construction accounting to operational reporting
Oversee operational accounting, including monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and variances analysis
Coordinate with property management on rent, recoveries, and facility fees
Oversee corporate accounting functions such as month-end closing and annual audits
Supervise and develop team members, conducting regular performance reviews

Credentials

Bachelors degree in Accounting
Valid controller or senior accounting license preferred
Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management software
Extensive experience in real estate or development accounting

Required Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
Proven experience in development and operational real estate accounting
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
