Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Care Supervisor to lead our respiratory therapy team within a dynamic healthcare environment. This position offers a $20k SIGN ON BONUS. This pivotal role involves overseeing respiratory care services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with clinical standards. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, critical care procedures, and hospital operations, contributing significantly to patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings.

Key responsibilities include supervising respiratory therapy staff, coordinating complex ventilator management, and supporting emergency response efforts. The supervisor will also ensure adherence to hospital protocols, facilitate staff training, and optimize respiratory device utilization. This role offers an opportunity to influence patient care quality directly while fostering a collaborative team environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise respiratory therapy staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing training initiatives.
Oversee the assessment and management of patients requiring respiratory support across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Coordinate ventilator management, airway procedures, and respiratory device operations with multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and clinical guidelines related to respiratory care.
Support emergency response efforts such as cardiac arrest protocols and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and medical equipment operation relevant to respiratory therapy.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively for documentation, patient tracking, and data analysis.
Monitor vital signs and perform patient assessments to inform treatment plans.
Facilitate staff training on advanced airway management techniques and critical care procedures.
Collaborate with pulmonology specialists and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes in complex cases including ICU, NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), Level I & II trauma centers, and critical & intensive care units.
Manage inventory of respiratory devices and ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment.

Requirements

Minimum of three years’ experience in hospital medicine with a focus on respiratory therapy; PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), or ICU experience preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in ventilator management, airway management, and critical care procedures.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to pulmonology and geriatrics.
Proven ability to operate medical equipment effectively within acute care environments.
Experience working with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) for documentation and patient data management.
Familiarity with hospital protocols for emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), outpatient clinics, and inpatient services.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams efficiently.
Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations involving cardiac arrest emergencies or complex airway interventions.
Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation procedures is advantageous.
