The Architectural Designer will lead and support all phases of commercial interior projects, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role focuses on corporate interiors and involves developing space plans, producing detailed construction documents, coordinating finishes and materials, and collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant design solutions.
Responsibilities-
Provide conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration services for commercial interior projects, with a focus on corporate interiors.

Develop space planning concepts that respond to client requirements, functional needs, and design standards.

Generate accurate and detailed construction documents using Revit and other relevant tools.

Select or contribute to the selection of furniture systems and specifications in collaboration with other project team members.

Coordinate finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction, ensuring consistency with design intent and project requirements.

Participate in client meetings, site visits, and presentations, providing expert design input and feedback while managing expectations.

Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators, and where directed by the Project Manager, help manage these relationships to meet project objectives.

Review submittals and finish samples for alignment with project requirements and compliance with applicable codes.

Support the Project Manager in managing and coordinating client expectations, team communication, and consultant activities throughout the project.

Collaborate with the broader project team to ensure design quality, schedule adherence, and successful project delivery.
Essential Skills-
Proficiency in Revit for architectural and interior design documentation.

Strong background in architecture, interior architecture, or interior design, with a focus on commercial and corporate interiors.

Demonstrated experience producing construction documents and coordinating construction details.

Ability to develop conceptual, schematic, and design development-level drawings and presentations.

Experience in space planning for commercial interior environments.

Knowledge of finish plans, specifications, and material selection processes.

Understanding of building codes and ability to review submittals and finish samples for code compliance.

Strong communication skills for effective participation in client meetings, site visits, and presentations.

Ability to collaborate with consultants, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to achieve project goals.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

At least 5 years of experience in the field of architecture or interior design.

Proven experience working on corporate interior projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Experience with interior architecture and corporate interior fit-outs.

Ability to contribute to furniture system selection and specifications in collaboration with project teams.

Comfort working under the direction of a Project Manager while taking ownership of assigned tasks.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple project components and deadlines.

Attention to detail in design development, documentation, and material coordination.

Ability to present design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional design and project delivery environment focused on commercial and corporate interiors. The Architectural Designer will work closely with project managers, consultants, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators, using Revit and other design tools to produce high-quality documentation and presentations. The position involves a combination of in-office work and site visits, including client meetings and on-site coordination during construction. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
