Post-doctoral Research Fellow—Clinical Research in Dermatology

The road to a residency of your choice or many opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry

Immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellowship position in advanced and complex medical dermatology and transfusion medicine, in a medical school-affiliated facility.

Ideal opportunity for:

· US citizens who completed medical school or residency training overseas.

· Graduates of US medical schools competing for a dermatology residency.

· Internal medicine, family medicine or other specialty physicians who wish to find a position in dermatology Residency Program.

· International medical graduates who completed dermatology residency in their country of origin, and now seeking dermatology residency in the US.

Essential Requirements

· Applicants MUST be in the US. Applications from overseas will not be considered.

· Evidence of significant clinical training and patient management skills.

· Must have completed medical school.

· Physicians only. Not for PhD candidates.

· Physicians having completed dermatology, internal medicine or family medicine residency in US or overseas preferred, but not required.

· Foreign medical graduates—ECFMG certification strongly preferred, but not required.

· Physicians with MA medical license or eligible for it get highest priority.

Extra qualifications that enhance acceptance

· Must efficiently communicate in English.

· Good computer skills essential. Experience and skills using search engines, especially PubMed and Medline, Embase, Google Scholar and others.

Good typing skills vital.

Responsibilities

Under direct and constant supervision of a licensed MA physician

· History taking and examining patients, determine lab tests, develop treatment plans and follow up regularly.

· Write detailed clinical notes. Must have good typing skills.

· Communicate in writing and verbally with physicians, pharmacies, nurses and laboratories.

Expectations

· Personable, professionalism, punctuality, responsibility, meticulous recordkeeping, academic conduct, literature reviews, data collection from patient records. Publish research in high-impact journals. Polite, communication skills. Typing and word processing skills. Must be a team player.

Expected duration

Two years minimum. Can be longer if research not finished.

No bench or laboratory research involved or required.

Salary

Based on level of training and experience, $35-$45k per year, negotiable for candidates with MA license.

University medical school postdoctoral fellowship appointment provided with certificate awarded upon completion.
