About the Role
Boston University’s Office of the University Registrar seeks an Assistant Registrar for Curriculum and SIS Catalog. Do you have experience with Student Information Systems or higher education curriculum? Do you have excellent attention-to-detail and oral and written communication skills? Can learn new software easily? Do you work well in a hybrid workplace as a member of a small team?
The Assistant Registrar works primarily to update the student information system’s course catalog and ongoing maintenance of MyBU, the University’s Student Information System. This role works alongside other staff in the Office of the University Registrar, particularly University Bulletin, and throughout the Enrollment & Student Administration unit. This role also partners with staff, faculty, and deans throughout Boston University’s schools and colleges and in other administrative offices throughout the University. The Assistant Registrar also works with some outside clients and vendors. This role reports to the Senior Assistant Registrar for Curriculum Management.
The Assistant Registrar’s primary duties include:
- Providing operational support of the Curriculum process and data updates in the Student Information System’s course catalog at Boston University;
- Managing and performing the daily Curriculum Management change and add requests;
- Performing ongoing quality control checks on their own work and the departmental curriculum initiators;
- Providing periodic re-education on process and procedures with academic departments in the schools and colleges;
- Communicating regularly and accurately with internal and external clients.
- Prior experience with Student Information Systems is necessary.
The Assistant Registrar employs a high degree of technological skill ensuring data integrity in the Student Information System (SIS) and the ability to navigate through integrated technology systems. Prior experience with Student Information Systems is necessary. The Assistant Registrar works relatively independently but may seek assistance for complex tasks. This role is expected to set priorities in consultation with others and to maintain confidentiality of information.

- Remote work is dependent on performance and responsibility. This position is designated as remote-local. The successful candidate must reside within a 3-hour commuting distance of the University to attend occasional in-person events as required.

About the Organization
The Office of the University Registrar is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). It supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Boston University by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, and oversee production of the Bulletin and the Degree Advice system.

About the Candidate
A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5years of relevant work experience are required for this position. Experience working in higher education and experience with information systems or large databases in higher education is required. Excellent customer service
