Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Xactimate Estimator / Insurance Claims Writer to join our growing restoration team. This position is ideal for someone who has extensive experience writing accurate, insurance-compliant estimates for property damage claims and is comfortable working with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs).

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates well with adjusters and project managers, and understands how to maximize estimate accuracy while maintaining compliance with carrier and TPA guidelines.

We're also looking for someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge. A small part of this role will include spending a few hours each week training our owner on Xactimate estimating and best practices.

Responsibilities

Write detailed and accurate Xactimate estimates for residential and commercial property claims.
Review documentation, photos, scopes of work, and supporting information to create complete estimates.
Submit and revise estimates through insurance carrier and TPA platforms.
Communicate with adjusters, project managers, and internal staff regarding estimate revisions and approvals.
Ensure estimates comply with carrier guidelines and industry standards.
Provide weekly one-on-one training and guidance on Xactimate estimating (approximately a few hours per week).

Qualifications

Proven experience writing property insurance estimates in Xactimate.
Experience working with TPAs, including Sedgwick, Contractor Connection, and similar programs.
Strong understanding of insurance restoration, estimating practices, and claims workflows.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
2+ years experience writing estimates in Xactimate
Must reside in Washington State.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in water, fire, mold, and storm damage restoration.
Familiarity with insurance carrier requirements and estimating best practices.
Previous experience mentoring or training others is a plus.
