Full Job Description

Konisto Civil Construction | Traveling Position | Full-Time

!!!This is a Traveling Position — Please Read Before Applying!!!

This role requires consistent out-of-state travel. The majority of our projects are out-of-state, and you will be required to be on site for several weeks at a time. The first project is located near Houston, Texas. Per diem will be given to cover lodging, meals, and incidentals for every night you are away from home. This is a non-negotiable requirement of the position — if travel is not something you can commit to, this role is not the right fit.

About the Role

Konisto is a civil construction and excavation company expanding into utility-scale solar EPC civil work. We are looking for an experienced Civil Foreman to lead field crews on large-scale solar site preparation projects. This person will be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for daily production, crew coordination, quality, and safety. You will work directly with the project manager and superintendent to keep the site on schedule and within spec.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to grow with a company actively scaling into the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct civil construction crews on utility-scale solar sites
Perform and oversee site layout using GPS, total station, or grade stakes
Direct mass grading, fine grading, and rough grading operations to plan
Manage access road and haul road construction across project sites
Oversee utility trenching operations including conduit and cable trench installation
Perform and support basic survey work including grade checks, staking, and as-built verification
Read and interpret civil site plans, grading drawings, and construction documents
Assign daily tasks to laborers and equipment operators; track production
Enforce site safety protocols and OSHA standards at all times
Oversee SWPPP compliance, erosion control, and environmental best practices
Maintain daily field logs, production reports, and crew records
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors
Manage equipment needs and communicate with operations for scheduling

Requirements

Experience as a Civil Foreman (preferably 3-5 years)
Proven background in earthwork, grading, road construction, and trenching
Ability to read and execute from civil construction plans and grading sheets
Experience with GPS-guided equipment and/or survey layout tools
Strong leadership skills
OSHA 10 required / OSHA 30 preferred
Valid driver's license
Must be willing and able to travel out of state for extended project durations

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in solar, wind, or renewable energy civil projects
Familiarity with Trimble or similar GPS/survey equipment
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with GCs
First Aid / CPR certification

Compensation

$28–$40/hour depending on experience

Daily Per Diem provided for every night away from home — covers lodging, meals, and incidentals. Per diem is paid on top of your hourly wage, un-taxed, and is not deducted from your pay.
