Job Summary

Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – In-Home Skilled Care

Employment Type: Part-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Pay Rate: $50.00–$55.00 per hour (based on experience)

Reports To: Director of Nursing / Agency Administrator

Location: Client homes within Boulder County

About the Role

Home Helpers Home care of Boulder is a non-medical home care agency expanding into skilled, in-home nursing services. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis to provide skilled nursing visits to clients in their homes. This role is well suited to a nurse — including retired RNs — looking for flexible, meaningful part-time work without the demands of a full-time clinical schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Perform in-home skilled nursing visits as scheduled, including routine and as-needed care
Administer and manage medications, including oral, topical, and injectable medications
Perform basic and focused health assessments (vital signs, wound checks, pain levels, overall condition monitoring)
Provide wound care and basic treatment room care as ordered by the physician
Monitor clients for changes in condition and report findings to the Director of Nursing and/or physician
Educate clients and family caregivers on medication management, disease process, and home safety
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all visits, assessments, and interventions in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
Coordinate care with the client's physician, family, and non-medical caregiving staff, agency staff in the office
Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed during all visits
Participate in care plan development and periodic care plan updates
Respond to nursing-related questions from non-medical caregiving staff as needed

Qualifications

Active, flexible Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Minimum of [1–2] years of clinical nursing experience; home health, hospice, geriatric, or medical-surgical experience preferred
Retired RNs with an active license are welcome and encouraged to apply
Current CPR/BLS certification
Experience with medication administration and injections required
Comfortable performing basic client assessments independently in a home setting
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes within the service area
Strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Current TB test/physical and background check clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule & Flexibility

Part-time, flexible scheduling based on client needs and nurse availability
Visit-based schedule (may include mornings, afternoons, or occasional weekends)
Ideal for nurses seeking supplemental income, a reduced clinical workload, or a return to hands-on nursing on a limited basis

Compensation

$50–$55 per hour, depending on experience
Mileage reimbursement for travel between client visits
