Full Job Description

Overview of Practicum

This practicum offers advanced-year MSW and MA-level students the opportunity to build meaningful clinical experience in a specialized, neurodivergent-affirming OCD and anxiety treatment setting. Practicum students receive hands-on training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) through participation in a young adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient services, while developing skills in evidence-based treatment, group facilitation, exposure coaching, treatment planning, and measurement-based care. This placement is designed to support students in growing their clinical confidence, deepening their understanding of OCD and anxiety treatment, and learning within a collaborative, supportive team environment.

Schedule

This practicum includes structured IOP hours, team meetings, consultation, supervision, and flexible time for outpatient work and administrative responsibilities.

Monday

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: ERP Therapy Training
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: IOP Planning
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Young Adult IOP

Tuesday

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Clinical Team Meeting
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: IOP Planning
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Young Adult IOP

Thursday

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: IOP Planning
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Young Adult IOP

Flexible Weekly Hours

Flexible weekly hours include outpatient sessions, individual supervision, documentation, notes, treatment planning, care coordination, and additional meetings or consultation as needed.

Responsibilities

Co-facilitate ERP-based young adult IOP groups
Provide exposure coaching and support response prevention
Carry a small outpatient caseload
Provide ERP-informed individual therapy and in-vivo exposures
Complete documentation and treatment plan updates
Administer and track standardized measures
Participate in supervision, consultation, and team meetings
Collaborate on case planning and care coordination
Maintain ethical, professional, and HIPAA-compliant practice
Track practicum hours as required

Qualifications

Advanced-year MSW student or MA-level counseling student in good academic standing
Clinical concentration preferred
Strong interest in OCD and anxiety treatment
Willingness to learn and practice exposure-based therapy
Ability to remain grounded while supporting clients through distress
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Reflective, professional, and open to feedback
Ability to pass a background check
