About Us
Doubles Club is a new hybrid cafe, bar, and pickleball club in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood, with a targeted opening of September 2026. As a locally-owned start up, we aim to become a community staple by building an energized, cool, and a unique social and recreational atmosphere- combining a full bar, cafe, indoor/outdoor pickleball courts, and a social patio.
With no full service kitchen, our focus is on incredible hospitality with a mission to create an inclusive, fun, and hospitable environment where guests gather to play, socialize, and connect.
As a locally-owned and operated start-up team of two, we're looking for a General Manager that’s excited by the opportunity to build something new alongside the owners and shape the culture of Doubles Club.
The Role
As the General Manager and the first hire of Doubles Club, you will lead daily operations from day one, helping shape our culture and systems. You’ll oversee the bar, cafe, courts, and events while fostering a hospitality-first environment. This role requires an adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and is passionate about building high-performing and supported teams, setting a high customer experience standard, and excited by community engagement and partnerships.
Core Responsibilities
- Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and oversee FOH hourly staff to build and manage a high-performing and enthusiastic hospitality team. Foster a positive, accountable culture.
- Operations: Manage day-to-day functions across the bar, cafe, courts, and events. Maintain high service and organization, comply with health department, liquor licensing, and safety regulations.
- Financial & Systems: Oversee scheduling, labor costs, inventory, POS systems, and budgets. Analyze KPIs to drive operational efficiency.
- Guest Experience: Lead by example in delivering exceptional service. Proactively build relationships with members, local businesses, and the community.
- Programming: Support daily recreation flow and events (i.e. league nights, tournaments, and corporate events) to keep the space active and engaging year-round.
- Conflict Resolution: Expertly handle high-stress situations and diffuse guest or staff issues with professional poise.
- Technical Proficiency: Master and manage POS systems, inventory tracking, and support labor cost analysis to optimize profitability.
- Collaboration: Work directly with owners to build the Doubles Club brand and business, engage strategically and creatively to shape a successful and community-first business model. Opportunity to set strategic goals tied to performance bonuses.

Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years as a General Manager in hospitality (restaurant, bar, cafe, recreation, or entertainment preferred.)
- Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead teams of 20+ employees.
- Skills: Strong financial acumen (inventory, P&L, budgeting) and operational expertise (POS, scheduling software).
- Attributes: Exceptional organization, multitasking, and communication skills; Create an exceptional guest experience; Adaptability to work in a start-up, hands-on environment.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Preferred: New venue opening experience; familiarity with membership-based models or recreation concepts; event planning experience
