Title: Prevention Services Coordinator

Reports to: Prevention Services Director

Status: Full-time / Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $24.04, plus benefits

Bilingual Stipend: $50/per pay period

Founded in 1985, Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) provides support, advocacy, and education to individuals in our community living with or affected by HIV, and serves as a trusted outreach and information resource dedicated to preventing the further transmission of HIV. Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to provide prevention services to and coordinate the Atlas Prevention Program for men who have sex with men (MSM), with the goal of reducing HIV, STI, and hepatitis C (HCV) transmission. Founded in 2006 by BCAP, Atlas is a peer-based HIV prevention program for MSM. Qualified candidates will need to demonstrate experience with and commitment to community organizing. This position, in collaboration with other staff, conducts HIV/HCV/STI testing, syringe access, street outreach, educational presentations, and outreach education at community events. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week, non-exempt, and located at the Boulder office. This position will require evening and weekend hours, and travel throughout BCAP’s service area. Bilingual Spanish and English language skills are preferred. This job description does not list the exclusive responsibilities of this position, and the Executive Director, Associate Director, and/or Prevention Services Director may assign other duties as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Works with the Prevention Services Director to develop a work plan of prevention activities to reach MSM
Recruits and supports MSM to engage in prevention services
Coordinates Atlas program activities (regular meetings, workshops, forums, social mixers, and events) for MSM
Develops materials to promote Atlas, including social media posts, to reach MSM
Collects, analyzes, and uses program data to strategize and develop ongoing Atlas programming
Provides HIV/HCV/STI testing at BCAP and offsite community partner locations
Provides syringe access and street outreach services
Provides educational presentations to classrooms and community-based groups
Conducts outreach education and tabling at community events to increase HIV awareness
Recruits and supervises volunteers to support BCAP’s prevention activities and Atlas programming

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, education, or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience in HIV services, public health, or community-based nonprofit work
Experience with and knowledge of gay, bisexual, queer, transgender and MSM communities
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work at computer for 2-3 hours at a time, manage interruptions, and lift 30 pounds
Access to reliable transportation
