Pet Sitter & Dog Walker — Independent Contractor
Your Dog’s Favorite Auntie LLC is growing! We’re looking for dependable animal people who will treat clients’ pets like family and respect their homes as carefully as their own. If friends already trust you with their pets—and you never mind sending an extra cute photo—you may be a great fit.
Assignments include drop-in visits, dog walks, and overnight stays in clients’ homes throughout Erie, Lafayette, Frederick, Longmont, Louisville, and Superior. You do not need to serve every community, but should be based near at least one; I’ll do my best to match you with clients close to home.
Paid pet-care experience is not required. Personal, volunteer, and professional hands-on experience all count. You should already be able to care safely for the pets and assignments you choose to accept. Experience in customer service, hospitality, caregiving, childcare, house-sitting, or another trust-based role is also valued.
Overnight availability is strongly preferred, but qualified applicants interested only in drop-ins and walks are encouraged to apply.
Contract rates
Compensation is paid per completed service, not by the hour. The hourly range displayed by Indeed is an approximate equivalent; actual earnings depend on the services and assignments you choose to accept.
- 30-minute visit or walk: $20
- 45-minute visit or walk: $25
- 60-minute visit or walk: $30
- Standard overnight stay: $60
Additional earning opportunities: You keep 100% of your tips, and qualifying holiday bookings include an additional premium. You’ll also receive $10 for each company-arranged introductory meet-and-greet you accept and complete. A meet-and-greet generally occurs once, before your first booking with a new client.
A standard overnight includes staying in the client’s home overnight and providing the agreed care throughout the booking. You may come and go during the stay, subject to the accepted care plan and the maximum time the pet may safely be left alone—typically four to six consecutive hours. Any separately scheduled daytime visits beyond the overnight care plan are paid at the applicable visit rate.
Contract rates include routine local travel, phone use, and administrative time. Assignment volume depends on client demand and is not guaranteed.

- Secure the home and protect keys, entry information, and client privacy
- Send a timely visit update with photos so clients know how their pets are doing

Independent-contractor arrangement
You set your availability and may accept or decline each offered assignment based on the location, pet, care needs, and services involved. You may also serve your own clients or work with other businesses.
Your Dog’s Favorite Auntie LLC provides client opportunities, client-specific care information, booking administration, and payment processing.
This is an independent-contractor opportunity, not employment. You are responsible for your own taxes and ordinary business expenses. Employee benefits, guaranteed hours, and guaranteed assignments are not provided.
Because this work involves unsupervised access to clients’ homes, pets, keys, and property, a company-paid background check will be requested after conditional selection and before the first assignment. Any history will be considered individually based on its nature, age, evidence of rehabilitation, and relevance to the work. A record is not an automatic disqualification.
