Technical Sales Engineer (Outside Sales) – Colorado

Rhino Pumps - Possibly the Coolest Sales Job in Industrial Equipment

Rhino Pumps is headquartered in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and expanding rapidly across the Western United States. We are looking for a high-performing Technical Sales Engineer to develop our Colorado market.

We design, engineer, and deliver turnkey pumping solutions for municipal and industrial applications. Our work matters—and so do our people.

Yes, we drive big trucks. Yes, there is more soda than you should probably drink. And yes, we genuinely enjoy working together. But make no mistake—this is a performance-driven sales role for someone who wants to build something meaningful.

What You'll Do:

You will own your territory and drive growth through both technical expertise and relationship development:

Identify and develop new business within municipal and industrial markets
Build and maintain relationships with engineers, operators, and procurement teams
Conduct on-site visits to assess needs and uncover opportunities
Design and specify pump solutions tailored to customer applications
Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and recommendations
Partner with internal engineering and operations teams to execute projects
Support customers with product knowledge, troubleshooting, and optimization
Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape
Represent Rhino Pumps at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings

This role combines technical problem solving with high-level sales execution.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, not required
2+ years of sales experience (industrial or technical sales a plus)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Self-starter with high ownership and accountability
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
Ability to manage a territory, prioritize time, and execute consistently

Above all, we are looking for an A-Player—someone who is driven, coachable, and committed to winning.

Compensation

Let's keep it simple.

Base salary: $70,000 - $90,000, depending on experience
Uncapped commission on closed sales, paid monthly
On-target earnings: $150,000 - $300,000, total base plus commission for reps performing at and above plan. An estimate based on actual performance, not a guarantee.

You will be rewarded for what you produce.

Benefits

401(k) match: 100% of your first 3%, then 50% of the next 2%. Up to 4% of pay.
HSA match: dollar for dollar, up to $84.60 per pay period. About $2,200 a year (requires a qualifying high-deductible health plan).
Colonial Life supplemental coverage: up to $100 per month toward the policy you pick from our available options: accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, cancer, dental, vision, or life. $1,200 a year.
80 hours of paid time off. 80 hours rolls over to next year, and we pay out anything above that.
Paid holidays.
Paid manufacturer training and certification.
Company truck.
$200 boot allowance every 2 years.

To be straight with you: we don't offer a group major medical health plan. The Colonial Life policies are supplemental coverage. They are not major medical insurance and not a substitute for it. If you want major medical, you'd get it on your own through the marketplace, a spouse's plan, or another source. We'd rather tell you that now than at offer stage.
