Help More People Find the Right Path Forward
TRUE Counseling is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven Field Marketer / Community Outreach Specialist to strengthen our presence throughout Colorado and develop a consistent pipeline of appropriate client referrals.
This is a community-facing position centered on trust, responsiveness, education, and authentic relationship-building. The right person will already have established contacts within the mental health, substance-use treatment, healthcare, recovery, or justice-services community and be ready to make an immediate impact.
Your ultimate responsibility will be to build lasting referral partnerships that connect more individuals and families with compassionate, effective care at TRUE Counseling.
About TRUE Counseling
TRUE Counseling provides individualized mental health and substance-use treatment designed to help people create meaningful, lasting change without putting their lives on hold.
Our services include intensive outpatient programming, enhanced outpatient care, substance-use treatment, dual-diagnosis support, individual therapy, mental health and substance-use evaluations, relapse-prevention services, and state-certified DUI education and therapy. Care is available in person and virtually throughout Colorado.
Our clinical approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, holistic, and grounded in respect for each person’s individual circumstances. We serve clients seeking help voluntarily as well as individuals navigating court, probation, or other legal requirements. Across every program, we strive to provide welcoming, judgment-free care that balances accountability with empathy.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral partners throughout Colorado
- Generate a consistent pipeline of appropriate incoming client referrals
- Introduce and educate community partners about TRUE Counseling’s programs, clinical capabilities, admissions process, locations, and virtual-care options
- Conduct regular in-person outreach to therapists, treatment centers, hospitals, detox and residential programs, medical providers, interventionists, sober-living programs, recovery organizations, schools, employers, attorneys, courts, probation departments, case managers, social-service agencies, and other referral sources
- Strengthen relationships with existing partners while identifying new partnership opportunities
- Represent TRUE Counseling at conferences, networking events, community meetings, resource fairs, and industry gatherings
- Serve as an accessible, responsive point of contact for referral partners before, during, and after the referral process
- Coordinate closely with admissions, clinical, operations, and leadership teams to support an efficient and compassionate client experience
- Communicate which clients and clinical needs are an appropriate fit for TRUE Counseling
- Track outreach activity, partner engagement, referrals, conversion trends, and results
- Gather feedback and market insights that help TRUE Counseling respond to community needs
- Represent TRUE Counseling with professionalism, empathy, accuracy, and integrity
- Ensure that all outreach and referral-development practices comply with applicable healthcare laws, ethical standards, and company policies
What We’re Looking For
- Established professional relationships within Colorado’s mental health, substance-use treatment, recovery, healthcare, or justice-services community
- Previous experience in behavioral-health business development, field marketing, community outreach, admissions, referral relations, treatment placement, or a similar role
- Direct experience working in or alongside the mental health or substance-use treatment industry
- A demonstrated ability to develop referral partnerships and generate measurable results
- A relationship-first approach to outreach, sales, and marketing
- A warm, personable, caring, and trustworthy communication style
- The ability to speak comfortably and knowledgeably about mental health, addiction, recovery, dual-diagnosis care, and justice-involved services
- Strong networking, presentation, organization, and follow-through skills
- The initiative and accountability to work independently in the field
- Sound judgment when handling sensitive client, clinical, and referral information
- A genuine commitment to helping people access appropriate care without judgment
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend networking and community events
You’ll Be Especially Well-Suited for This Role If You
- Can begin reaching out to an existing network soon after joining the team
- Know how to build trust over time rather than relying on high-pressure sales tactics
- Understand the importance of matching each person with the appropriate level of care
- Are comfortable working with clinical providers, treatment professionals, community organizations, courts, probation teams, and other multidisciplinary partners
- Are highly responsive and consistently do what you say you will do
- Want your work to contribute directly to recovery, stability, resilience, and positive change
What Success Looks Like
