Job Title: Part-Time Middle School Facility Manager (2o hours per week)

Job Summary: We are seeking a responsible and proactive individual to fill the position of Part-Time Middle School Facility Manager. The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the school's facilities during designated hours. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with staff and contractors.

Responsibilities:

1. Facility Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing plumbing fixtures, and fixing minor electrical issues.
Conduct regular inspections to identify any maintenance or repair needs and promptly address them.
Coordinate with external contractors for larger maintenance projects as needed.

2. Cleaning and Sanitation:

Oversee the cleaning staff to ensure that all areas of the school are cleaned to established standards.
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as necessary.
Implement and maintain sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

3. Safety and Security:

Conduct regular safety inspections of the premises, including fire alarm systems, emergency exits, and playground equipment.
Address any safety hazards or concerns promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with school administration to develop and implement safety procedures and protocols.

4. Groundskeeping:

Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and removing snow and ice during winter months.
Monitor and report any landscaping or grounds maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.

5. Equipment and Inventory Management:

Keep an inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, and place orders for replenishment as needed.
Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repair history.
Ensure that all equipment and tools are properly stored and maintained.

6. Communication:

Communicate regularly with school administration and staff regarding facility-related matters.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and inquiries from staff and students.
Serve as a liaison between the school and external contractors or service providers.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant vocational training or certifications preferred.
Prior experience in facility maintenance, custodial work, or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Stamina to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Comfort working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The typical schedule may include evenings and weekends to accommodate school events and activities.
