As a Production Line Lead at Tune, you will be a vital member of our leadership team in driving the daily execution and quality of our innovative truck campers. Using your expertise in manufacturing workflows and team development, you will lead production with precision and efficiency while ensuring your assigned area meets high standards of safety and output. Depending on your specific background, you will take ownership of either Front of Line or Middle of Line operations
We are currently searching for either a front of line or middle of line lead to join our team. Details on those specific roles are included below.
Production Line Leads are responsible for daily execution of production, quality control, team development, and continuous improvement within their assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR).
While each Line Lead owns specific stations and processes, all Leads share collective accountability for production flow, quality standards, safety, and delivery performance across the production line.
Line Leads are expected to operate as a unified leadership team while maintaining clear ownership of their respective AORs.
All Line Leads operate with equal authority on the production floor. In cases where alignment cannot be reached, the Production Manager has final decision authority
Each Lead is empowered to
- Direct and adjust work in real time
- Reallocate labor to support flow, quality, and output
- Address performance or process issues immediately
Cross Line decisions that impact multiple areas should be aligned between Leads and Production Manager (PM) prior to execution, except in cases requiring immediate safety correction or quality containment.
Core Responsibilities (Applies to all Line Lead positions)
- Utilize Production Tracking tools to track/log defects and ensure rework is accurately tracked
- Maintain visibility on QC defects week
- Identify QC trends and escalate root causes
- Support cross line QC containment
- Ensure daily and weekly production targets are met as defined by production need, and Production Manager
- Units are completed within TAKT time as defined by PE team
- Escalate issues impacting flow immediately
- Ensure all associates are trained in AOR
- Coordinate trainee shadowing and ensure proper training of associates in AOR
- Own MP hand offs from PE team once approved
- Coach (as needed) and track training progression
- Ensure stations are fully stocked, tools returned to station, and work stations organized at end of each shift
- Maintain tool functionality along with ensuring Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is occurring
- Conduct daily headcount (HC) allocation adjustments as needed across production areas to support flow, coverage, and meet production targets
- Reallocate labor in real time based on demand, constraints, and production priorities
- Coordinate HC changes with other Line Leads to maintain alignment and avoid coverage gaps
- Actively identify process improvements in the area, expected to participate in GEMBA walks biweekly with PE team
- Ensure MP revisions are communicated to associates within AOR and associates are trained on new processes.
- Enforce PPE and safety standards in accordance with Tune Handbook guidelines.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are maintained and in safe working condition.
- Identify and escalate safety risks, near misses, and recurring hazards. Partner with the PM and PE team to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clean. organized work areas to reduce risk and support production flow.
As production evolves, this role may expand to additional stations or new processes and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience and hands-on use of power tools (professional or personal)
- Strong knowledge of general construction practices, e.g. 12V electrical work, wood working, metal working, and assembly.
- Ability to read, follow, and improve assembly instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Manufacturing Process (MPs) documents
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
- Experience with problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with inventory management processes
- Experience with quality control, including inspection, documentation, and logging of defects and rework
- Ability to accurately track and maintain production and quality records using digital systems (e.g., Google Sheets or similar tools)
- Proficient in computer applications, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms)
- Ability to perform basic math and an understanding of how to use a tape measure, and readily convert between fractional and decimal measurements
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take direction, and ask questions when needed
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Positive, proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods, repetitive motion, bending, and operating equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely handle materials up to 14 feet in length
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training is a plus
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Customer-facing or sales experience preferred (for Install & Walkthrough Lead roles)

Area Specific Ownership
Primary Focus: Overseeing the start of the production line, ensuring shop materials, tools, and associates are positioned to meet daily goals.
AOR
Responsibilities
- Verify build order is accurate with Production Manager (PM)
- Oversee forklift operation, maintenance, and certification classes
- Manage LP & Argon resupply, shop safety initiatives, and coordinate improvements with PM and PE Team
- Oversee tool distribution to the floor and maintain log of replacements to establish cadence (bits, batteries, drills, etc.)
- Verify TPM cadence for equipment and tools is occurring and properly logged.
- Oversee PPE distribution, roll-off ordering, and overall shop cleanliness.
- Manage aluminum recycling scheduling and Saw/CNC material readiness.
- FOL Lead owns the final sign off of units, sub-assemblies, and parts that are completed within their AOR.
Primary Focus: Door Cell, Kitting: tracking and completion,
AOR
Responsibilities
- Oversee door cell workflow execution; including prep, building, and inspection (pre and post powdercoat) of materials
- Coordinate internal production door flow of;
- OshCut
- Blue Flame
- Hartung
- Align with Engineering and FOL on scheduling secondary CNC related door operations.
- Ensure timely staging and outbound readiness of OshCut door shipments to our powdercoat partners.
- Coordinate with Inventory Manager and PM to assist Min/Max accuracy and sub assembly completion tracking.
- Report Kitting completion status at end of week.
- MOL Lead owns the final sign off of units, kitting sub-assemblies, and doors that are completed within their AOR. EOL Lead takes ownership once units are ready for Accessory Install and/or Final Quality Inspection.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
