GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Institution Provost, the Medical Radiography Program Director is responsible for the academic leadership of the Medical Radiography Program and management and supervision of the faculty and support staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops Medical Radiography curriculum and guides development of equipment and supply requirements.
· Administers, coordinates, and supervises the Medical Radiography Program including residential faculty, students, and externship students.
· Assists in recruitment, evaluation, and selection of new student candidates to program
· Coordinates externship training program
· Responsible for quality and quantity of clinical education settings.
· Evaluates and assures clinical education effectiveness
· Creates annual class start schedules
· Initiates and writes new policies and procedures for MRAD Program as appropriate insuring compliance with regulating agencies.
· Initiates, manages, and coordinates process to gain JRCERT and ABHES Accreditation
· Compiles and submits reports to JRCERT and ABHES and other regulating agencies as required
· Organizes the programs to meet accreditation standards.
· Follows an ASRT recognized and accepted curriculum that prepares the student to practice in the professional discipline.
· Provides a curriculum that promotes professional values, life-long learning, and competency in critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Reports progress and needs of the program to the Provost and Senior Leadership monthly, or as requested.
· Administers Personnel Policies as directed by Human Resources.
· Organizes, administers, reviews, develops, and assures program effectiveness
· Conducts ongoing program assessment
· Participates in budget planning.
· Review of textbooks annually to determine validity and continuing usage of the textbooks.
· Review and update Medical Radiography curriculum to stay current with practices and procedures.
· Documents faculty, and clinical staff responsibilities and supports the fulfillment of the program’s mission and goals.
· Maintain and provide to faculty a monthly teaching schedule.
· Coordinated theory schedule of faculty.
· Supervises orientation for all new instructors regarding proper method of record keeping such as attendance, grades, counseling, forms, lesson plans, etc,
· Plans and supervises in-service for all faculty. Maintains minutes of each in-service training session showing agenda, attendance, and instructor evaluations of the in-service.
· Conduct monthly faculty meetings and maintain minutes of those meetings showing agenda, record of attendance and a written report of what was covered.
· Evaluates instructors by visiting classes and completing written evaluation followed with a discussion of the evaluation with the instructor annually.
· Resolve student disciplinary problems.
· Continuously follows progress of students, reviewing attendance and grade records.
· Coordinate and schedule tutorial classes for students who are on academic probation or having difficulty in a given class.
- Demonstrates interest in innovative methods and/or materials for teaching/learning.
- Facilitates the use of innovative methods and/or materials for teaching/learning.
- Provides for an environment that is conducive to learning.
- Periodically visits externship sites utilized by the program.
- Confers with persons in the community regarding Medical Radiography education.
· Maintains knowledge of current development in Medical Radiography and education.
- Is active in Medical Radiography and educational organizations.
- Provides for representation of the Program on appropriate committees of the cooperating agencies.
- Performs other such duties as requested by the President.
MINIMUM DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
- Minimum of master’s degree from an institution accredited and recognized by the U.S Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- At a minimum, holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or equivalent and registration in radiologic sciences; or
- Holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or equivalent and registration in medical radiography
· Licensed ARRT (R) can hold other titles but not necessary like (MR), (CT), (M), (US) (NM)
· Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
· Current ARRT and CRT required
· Current BLS American Heart Association preferred
Experience
- Proficient in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and counseling.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an instructor in radiologic sciences

Pay: $128,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year
