Position Summary
Rubicon is seeking a motivated, organized Junior Operations Manager to support daily operations across our landscape maintenance, enhancement, irrigation, snow removal, and construction divisions. This role bridges administrative functions and field operations, working directly with crews to set standards, build skills, and ensure jobs are set up to succeed, all while developing toward full Operations Manager responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in landscaping, construction, snow removal, field operations, or administrative operations support
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred
- Experience with landscaping, irrigation, enhancement, snow removal, or construction operations
- Experience with project budgeting, purchasing, or scheduling
- Knowledge of fleet, equipment, and vendor management
- Experience using Paycom, Aspire, LMN, or similar operational software
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Landscape Management, or related field, or 4 years of equivalent working experience
Key Responsibilities
- Job Prep & Project Management: Hands-on project management to set jobs up for success, lining up rentals, tools, and materials in advance, scheduling crews, and resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Coaching & Training: Coach and train crew leaders and field employees, set clear standards of excellence and time expectations for tasks, and show teams how to perform labor most effectively.
- Accountability: Document performance issues and take corrective action to keep crews on track and successful in the field.
- Administrative & Budgeting Support: Track project budgets and expenses, process purchase orders and vendor invoices, and maintain operational reports and records.
- Vendor & Fleet Coordination: Coordinate material deliveries, equipment rentals, and vendor relationships; work with the Fleet Manager on vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and inspections.
- Field Support: Conduct site visits for quality control and follow-up, ensuring crews have what they need and that safety policies are followed.

- Performance issues documented and addressed proactively
- Budgets and vendor invoices managed accurately and on time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
