Salary – $20.87 - $33.08 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities

Typical duties for a Reference Archivist:

Provides core reference support, which includes triage of reference requests, responding to reference requests.
Deliver high quality of customer service through multiple means, i.e., phone, email, in-person.
Organizing and self management of assigned tasks.
Providing back up support in the collection repository, basic circulation functions and duties.
Ability to provide in-person customer service to the public, researchers, and other government agencies.
Ability to conduct archival research in the State's permanent collections to facilitate access.
Ability to create access and finding tools to help facilitate research and access. This also includes the ability to create outreach resources, i.e., blogs, social media posts.
Understanding of Utah's history and records generally held by the State. Allowing for facilitated access to other repositories as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Customer service skills
Research skills
Information literacy knowledge
Good communication skills
Writing skills
Experience using Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in history, library science, or related field is preferred.
Knowledge about the digitization of records
Basic archival processing knowledge
