What You'll Do
This is a hands-on role that combines excellent patient care with operational support. Responsibilities include:
Clinical Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
- Obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and allergies
- Assist the surgeon during patient exams and office procedures
- Scribe patient encounters within the EMR
- Take standardized clinical photographs
- Apply dressings, garments, cold packs, topical anesthetics, and other treatments as directed
- Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment
- Sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
- Maintain clinical logs and safety documentation
- Coordinate preoperative clearances when needed
- Answer patient questions and document clinical communications in the EMR
Front Office Support
As a startup practice, teamwork is everything. You'll also assist with:
- Greeting patients and creating an exceptional first impression
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Scheduling appointments
- Checking patients in and out
- Collecting payments
- Sending new patient paperwork and appointment reminders
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Helping keep the office running efficiently each day
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has at least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, or another procedural specialty
- Enjoys working directly with patients
- Is compassionate, dependable, and professional
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Can multitask while maintaining accuracy
- Enjoys learning new skills and taking on new challenges
- Works well independently while also being a strong team player
- Has a genuine interest in plastic surgery and aesthetics
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant certification (or equivalent training as permitted by state law)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical patient care experience
- Strong computer and EMR skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, facial plastics, or surgical specialty experience
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, assisting with patient care, and occasional exposure to bodily fluids and other clinical environments.
