Full Job Description

Summary of Position Mission

The Final Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of completed firearms and related products to ensure they meet Canik USA quality standards, engineering specifications, cosmetic requirements, functional expectations, and regulatory compliance prior to packaging and shipment.

The Final Inspector must possess strong attention to detail, maintain accurate inspection records, and work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Test Fire, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

Perform final inspection of completed firearms prior to packaging and shipment.
Inspect firearms for cosmetics including finish quality, engraving, markings, coatings, scratches, dents, discoloration, and assembly appearance.
Verify all firearm components are correctly assembled to work instructions, and quality standards.
Verify serial numbers, model designations, and product markings for accuracy and traceability.
Confirm required accessories, magazines, optics plates, manuals, locks, and packaging components are complete and accurate.
Ensure products meet all customer specifications and company quality requirements.
Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products.
Generate and process Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
Accurately document inspection results within company quality systems.
Maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Assist with root cause investigations
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and inspection efficiency.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection workstations.
Follow all firearm safety procedures while handling firearms.
Comply with all OSHA, ATF, company safety, and security requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Knowledge Required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma or GED required
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications required
2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Firearms manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience using inspection equipment and quality documentation systems required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to identify cosmetic and functional defects.
Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies.
Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
Familiarity with quality inspection methods and documentation.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company products and processes.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems.

Work Environment

Manufacturing and production environment.
Exposure to oils, lubricants, cleaning chemicals, and machining debris.
Exposure to firearm testing areas with required hearing and eye protection.
PPE required in designated production areas.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
Frequently use hands and fingers to handle small firearm components.
Frequently perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to distinguish small cosmetic defects and markings with or without corrective lenses.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
