Summary of Position
The Grants Writer plays an important role on the Development team, further Thive’s grant awards as part of its revenue portfolio. Excellent writing skills, strong organization, project management, and attention to deadlines are critical for this position.

Position Responsibilities
- With the Executive Director and Systems Manager, oversee grants system that typically generates $300,000 yearly in awards
- Prospect new grant opportunities weekly using various digital tools
- Keep source documents about Thrive’s mission, impact, programs, organizational structure, and finances up to date and organized for regular access
- With the Executive Director and Systems Manager, select grants to pursue and outline roadmap to project completion
- Draft all narratives for grant applications, using source documents, prior applications, and minimal AI tools so that submissions read with authenticity and reflect a unique piece of writing submitted to no other grantor
- Draft reports about use of funds from previous awards, communicating to grantors how funds furthered the Thrive mission
- Steward the organization’s grants data base account, with support from the Systems Manager

Education, Training, Experience & Certification Requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Past experience writing grant proposals with a high degree of success
Preferred But Not Required:
- Experience working in nonprofit arena
- Formal education in Business, English, Communications
- Knowledge of Salesforce and Instrumentl software systems
