Most DON jobs look the same. This one doesn't.

You've probably read a hundred job descriptions that promise "autonomy" and "impact" — and then you show up to a 200-person agency with 14 layers of approval, a broken EMR, and no one who remembers why they got into healthcare.

This isn't that.

Home Heart Florida is one of the fastest-growing pediatric home health companies in the state. We're building something genuinely different — for kids with complex medical needs, for the nurses who care for them, and for the leaders who run it all.

We're looking for a Director of Nursing who wants to actually lead: shape clinical programs, develop field nurses, build the systems that don't exist yet, and do it all without the bureaucracy that kills momentum everywhere else.

Our team rates us 10 out of 10 to work here. We don't think that's an accident.

What makes this role different

You'll have real ownership. This is not an oversight role where you manage paperwork and report to five people. You set clinical standards, build your team, and make decisions. You'll work directly with the founding team.You're getting in early. We're growing fast across Florida. The DON who joins now will have outsized influence on how this company delivers care — and what it becomes.

The role

You'll lead clinical operations across our Florida regions — overseeing care plans, recertifications, documentation standards, field nurse development, and quality. Day-to-day, that means:

Setting the clinical standard and holding the team to it — with coaching, not just oversight
Building real relationships with families navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives
Staying ahead of AHCA, Medicaid, and accreditation requirements so nothing catches us off guardPartnering with operations, intake, and scheduling to remove friction from the care process
Being a steady, trusted presence for nurses in the field when things get complicated

Who we're looking for

Active Florida RN license
2+ years of pediatric nursing, with meaningful time in high-acuity or complex care
2+ years in home health
2+ years of clinical leadership — DON, ADON, clinical manager, or equivalent
Strong working knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, and pediatric authorizations
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Reliable transportation for regional visits across Florida
