Full Job Description

Overview

Job description:

Busy solo practicing attorney that handles probate and estate planning is looking for a legal assistant in Apollo Beach, Florida. Prior legal experience working for a law office is a must. Probate and estate planning experience is strongly desired. You must be at work no later than 9:00 a.m. This is not a remote job. If you are looking for a remote job or do not have reliable transportation, then please do not apply.

Pay is commensurate with experience. Please include your desired weekly pay amount in your application/resume.

Duties/Responsibilities/Expectations include:

· Answering phones and making appointments for clients.

· Writing checks for the attorney’s signature and mailing office bills.

· Billing is extremely important. You must be comfortable with accurately billing for the time you spend on a case and drafting/calculating invoices for clients.

· Scanning documents and saving them to the file. Must double-check the documents to ensure that they are scanned correctly.

· Must be excellent at spelling, grammar, punctuation and proofreading your own work.

· Filing intra-office and with the e-portal, simplifile, etc.

· Must be comfortable with Word, Google Docs and Google Calendar.

· Running office errands.

· Coordinating witnesses for estate planning clients.

· Drafting legal documents.

· Combining and sending documents through PDF.

· Taking payments, issuing receipts and applying payments to client accounts.

· Ordering office supplies.

· Business casual attire. No hoodies, flip-flops or T-shirts ever.

Work hours: Work hours are generally 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. with a one (1) hour lunch from noon- 1:00 p.m.
